Smaug 'The Superior'

Now here was a hard case to try to make his appearance, a big time villain foe with a scary name: Smaug. He’s one of JusSonic’s creation, and his name reminds us of that powerful dragon from the Hobbit if one thinks about it? For now, he is known as only, Smaug ‘The Superior’, the strongest & most powerful member in his organization: The Apocalypse Ponies, as their leader. This guy seems to have a connect in being like Xemnas from Organization XIII in Kingdom Hearts, and that guy was plenty powerful & seen as a big shot foe to be renown & feared. So yeah, you can expect to see him be seen in some of jusSonic’s MLP: FIM fan make stories, no questions asked. Appearance: A Unicorn stallion with Mid-night black fur coat, with short spiky mane & long tail that are blood red color, and his eyes are blood red color. From his physical appearance, he’s build some muscles to look strong, even within his 30s, he still looks like someone who has a hold of commanding power & authority. On his flank is something that resembles a dragon’s skull mark, as his Cutie Mark, and the way it’s been seen, makes one wonder how this pony ever learn what talent to develop such a mark.

Personality: Smaug is truly emotionless-in every sense of the word-and does not even remember what it was like to have any feelings. He claimed that this allowed him to have a clear understanding of the heart, but, in reality, this had warped his mind into believing that only anger, hatred, and other negative emotions were what make up most of a heart. His lack of emotion deprives him of remorse for his actions, as well as the loss of others that serve in his Organization. The only thing he truly cared about was his desire for power. However, on some occasions, he had appeared to value love, for his departed wife Narissa. In other matters, Smaug spoke with calmness & deep authority. He had a tendency to be overly melodramatic, making long-winded speeches, exaggerating his false rage and sorrow with wide sweeping arm movements & hoof gestures, like many villains. While ridiculous in nature, his exaggerations were representations of his lack of emotion. He is very intelligent, overall, and knew how to manipulate others, particularly Twilight and her friends for his own needs.

SKILLS: Presently unknown, but has earn the top first rank in the Apocalypse Ponies he established. In his quest for power in studying dark magic arts for years, he gain aid connection to the Demon Lords before alining himself with the strongest creature of all who’s power resigns in Demon God: Grimmore. After doing so, Smaug wields the power of Nothingness, and channels this into his weapons, red blades of magical energy called Ethereal Blades, which extend from his bottom part of his hooves. As the superior, Smaug is the first member & founder of the Apocalypse Ponies, with all other chosen members & Nobody Ponies under his control. As the leader of his Organization, Smaug wields nothingness, and manifests this as blades of magical energy called Ethereal Blades. He is very agile, and attacks with swift acrobatic combos with his blades. He can also teleport, fly, and create magic energy barriers to shield himself. Besides using them as melee weapons, Smaug can fire his Ethereal Blades as laser-like projectiles, and can either fire them directly from his hooves or create them in mid-air. He also incorporates some sort of attack that drains his opponents’ health with a sphere of dark energy, though the exact manner of this has varied. Smaug also has the ability to encase himself in a blue ball of energy that makes it impossible for heroes to attack him, and would also fire out a set of powerful lasers. The ball would follow the target around if they ever tried to get away from it. Smaug can encase the target in a field of dark energy that steadily drains their health, that can only be broken by their reaction struggle, if it’s strong enough. Smaug can also use an attack known as the “Invitation To nothingness”, in which he ensures opponents in a sphere of dark energy that slowly drains their life force. He also uses something called All-Vanity, as he summons a barrier around himself, & hovers around the field. Any enemies that touch Smaug’s barrier will take damage, and cannot deal damage to Smaug. He also has the ability to cast illusions or alter the perception of others. His magic is even strong enough that he can summon large buildings, which he uses telekinetic magic abilities to levitate and launch them buildings at his targets. He still uses his ethereal blades to perform swift combos mixed with hoof-to-hoof combat and can block strong hero fighters’ attacks by using Reflect spell. He’s also capable of summoning a barrier around the target to trap them and use it offensively by making it rush through them. As far as anything, he’s also one of the Three Lords of Equestria, being third while Dark Curse of the Dark Mystics is second, but the big number one of them all is the Demon God himself: The Dark Elf, Grimmore; the Overlord King of Tartarus.

Weapon Appearance: A pair of Ethereal Blades that has a very simple design; it is a straight rod of energy that glows red. They are beams of red magical energy & extend directly from the bottom palms of his front hooves, without any hilt or handle. When striking a target, it creates a sphere of glowing red lightning, the same color as Interdiction. Note: Interdiction is a military term, as an action to divert, disrupt, delay, or destroy the enemy’s surface military potential before it can be used effectively against friendly forces. Also the names of Smaug’s various Ethereal Blades seem to be references to iron-fisted leadership. Perhaps due to his preeminent power among the Apocalypse Ponies, only one of his Ethereal Blades, Infinity, actually grants him a support ability.

Weapon Ability: Interdiction’s ground combo consists of a single slash from left to right, a double slash from right to left, and the launching of four blades along a vertical arc. A combo can be activated after the double slash, to make Smaug launch the blades along a horizontal arc instead of a vertical one. The aerial combo consists of a quick spinning slash, a short range double spin slash, and a medium range double spin attack. He can summon or disperse them at will, and is able to change their length as well. They are solid despite their appearance, and, despite seemingly lacking a cutting edge, are wielded like swords. The Ethereal Blades can also be used as projectiles and can suspend themselves in midair around a target before firing at them. As a desperation move, Smaug can surround his enemy in darkness and fire an amazing amount of Ethereal Blades at them.

Family History: Before we learn about Smaug, we need to understand his family history. After the founding of Equestria, Unicorns, Pegasus, and Earth Ponies began to live in Harmony. A few Unicorns disagreed with this. They believed that Unicorns should rule over Pegasus and Earth Ponies. Centuries later, Smaug the Great (Smaug's name sake and ancestor ruled Equestria with an iron hoof. Under his tyrannical rule, ponies lived strict caste system. Unicorns as the rulers and scholars, Pegasus as the soldiers and builders, and Earth ponies at the bottom as farmers and servants. Eventually war broke out between the three tribes. The fighting and disharmony caused Discord, the spirit of disharmony, to appear in Equestria. He caused unrest and unhappiness throughout all of Equestria for Earth ponies, unicorns and Pegasus alike. Celestia and her sister Luna rose up against Discord and used the Elements of Harmony to turn him to grateful, the ponies made Celestia and Luna their new rulers. Smaug the Great vowed that one of his descendants would destroy Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.

Backstory: After many years of passing lead up to one descendant to take up the mantel of his ancestor, Smaug became who he is and is a powerful dark wizard who lives in the Midnight Castle in the Everfree forest. He has studied the dark arts for many years. Smaug believe that Unicorns and Pegasus are more better than Earth ponies. And he also believes that Unicorns should rule over all of Equestria. His family includes his late wife Narissa, his daughter Trixie, and his son Merluck. Narissa in the only pony he ever loved besides accomplishing his dark dream. After a band of Griffons had killed her, he had killed them all in retribution. This left him with a bitter hatred for all Griffons. Rumor has it after the funeral of his wife, Smaug abandoned his daughter Trixie. As for Merluck, the stallion was mostly old enough to continue his own quest for power & control over everything in creation, to be sent to a wasted island near the land of Ponytion to build a castle to begin building his own reputation. After much time, Smaug eventually gotten in contact with the Demon Lords for his quest for power, but he knew they were not to be trusted. But of course, Smaug’s father made a deal with the most powerful Demon God in Equestria: Grimmore, involving parts of the demon being reborn in the world as Smaug, as the other half remains in Tartarus. And when the time finally comes, both halves shall fuse together, making the villains more powerful once Smaug fused into Grimmore. When Smaug had enough resources, he soon started to become the first member & leader of an Organization he called: The Apocalypse Ponies. And who’s sworn duty known only to Smaug calling himself, the Superior, is not just taking over Equestria, it involves releasing Grimmore from his prison somehow or another. After the events involving Lorcan the Scarred Ruler’s defeat & learning of his daughter playing such a big role, Smaug invites her to join rank with him & other members, and even those that work for the Organization like Merluck who isn’t a rank member. Boris the Unicorn (a while later after some of own defeats) has been known to work for Smaug when Trixie joined, but they do occasionally insult each other. While he was in the past, not as powerful as Nightmare Moon or Discord, his cunning, intelligent, and use of dark magic & growing forces & connections to Grimmore, make him one of most dangerous foes Twilight and her friends will have ever encountered.

Present Bio: One event showed he had caused Sunset Shimmer to become evil by invading & corrupting her through her dreams. Sunset Shimmer almost succeeded in taking Twilight Sparkle’s crown, but failed, as did the Superior to corrupt Twilight to join his organization. So the Superior used a powerful Forbidden Spell that froze an entire alter world except those with magic & from the Equestria place, that he venture to face Twilight’s group while punshihg Sunset Shimmer for failing him. But even as he fought, even with being best’d, in actual-reality, he was not fighting at his full power that left the heroes puzzled before leaving the scene and time return to normal. Evidently, Dark Curse of the Dark Mystics appeared in wishing to aid Smaug’s organization, but in truth, wishes to use them for their own nefarious plot came into the picture. After recent events from the Demon Lords failing to stop the heroes from saving Sweet Apple Acres, the Superior was given aid from a secondary powerful force next to the mighty Demon God Grimmore kept imprison in Tartarus, and they were the Dark Mystics. From Dark Curse's performance, he gave the members the Eight Demon Sorcerer's souls to resign in their bodies as well as Shendu's 12 Talismans. Smaug however has no need to become a vessel or receive a Talisman because….his secret powers come from the mighty Overlord King himself: Grimmore, by a special connection of receiving some portions at least. Smaug can easily trust Grimmore more then Dark Curse who does not know of the two’s connection, and that anyone that dares to raise against either will pay dearly, but Grimmore & Smaug decide to let Dark Curse aid them, for when that Dark Mystic’s use is over, so is his existence. From another event, Grimmore learned about a crack in his heart that was performed on him by a secret martial arts & spell: Heart Stroke, by the decease Mystic Avatar, to cause a person to be weakened slowly & painfully, which explained certain events he learned from Smaug after being told by Dark Curse. But Smaug learned that Grimmore had recently uncovered such a thing to work out a plan to overcome the weakness, but absorbing the unimaginable forces of all magic from countless destroyed universes to not only grow even far stronger, but heal his heart so that when the time comes of the Demon God’s release…all enemies will fall. And so now, Smaug continues to run his organization while aiding Grimmore and being watchful of the Dark Mystics, even if the Apocalypse Ponies fall, in the end….Smaug will still end up being besides Grimmore in a way to have the world and to do…as they please.
