Chapter 07) New Meadow, Welcoming?

At the top of the hill, the Furlings had just about arrived there.

"Huagh-huuagh?" Russell panted out of breath from climbing that hill, as he was in the middle while Abigail was to his left looking over at Edger on the hedgehog's right from studying the map? "Boy, we can be any place?" Russell stated off tiredly, as he waved his hands around before turning to look over the spot where they came from the pond creek? There were some bird calls, as both Abigail and Edger turn to look over by the pond's view to look for anything? Russell notice a part of his pants was low, so he pulled it up while unaware that a butterfly flew over his head until he notice it! "Urgh-Urgh-urgh, Ugh?" Russell was trying to shoo the butterfly away from distracting him with his arms, until he turned around and away from the pond to stare forward. "Guuuuaagh?" Russell gasped at what he saw before him, as it left him speechless and shock!

As Abigail and Edger were still looking in the other direction confused of where to go now, Russell soon was gonna get their attention.

"Hugh?" Edger yelped from Russell tapping his shoulder to have him turn to the hedgehog that needed him?

"Hugh?" Abigail yelped to see Russell tap her shoulder too, as the hedgehog had both his friends attention, he pointed for them to see something, as he made a gaping smile at what he's found.

"Huagh?/Huuagh?" Edger and Abigail turned to follow where Russell pointed towards and both gasped with wide eyes and mouths to what they were looking at now that was a true surprise!

From where Russell pointed, we see from a different scene angle of what was….a MEADOW? Yes, behind the Furlings was a fresh, healthy meadow with plenty of flowers, plants and herbs growing around while from the pathway lead to a single tree that was growing in the center of this fine greeny?

"It's a Meadow!" Abigail's voice exclaimed out in shock and surprise to seeing this sight for a change, as the birds sang, the Furlings had at long last, found a new meadow?

"Huch-huagh?" We see the Furlings with Abigail laughing in happiness that she, Russell, and Edger held hands to hurry on down to the new meadow they found!

"We Made It!" Russell cheered out loud in joy, after all this time, they at long last found a new meadow, this was just wonderful.

"EheheehEEeihnn…" Abigail laughs off some more with a smile, the three Furlings were so happy to have found what they were looking for.

"Huch-Huch, Hauhuahuagh…." Russell was laughing between breaths when he and his happily joy friends rushed down the hill without bothering to stop for even a second.

"Heeh-Heeh?" Edger laughs out a bit as well from being so happy, just as the Furlings made it to the ground and slowly were walking to a stop just a few feet from the single tree in the meadow.

Above the hill spot, two heads popped out that were watching the Furlings and notice where they were? It was the Freelance Police again, as they looked from not only where the Furlings are, but where they were at; a Meadow?

"Sweet Honey Mustard Off Flints Spicy Sauce, Kicking A Crook Down One Alley While Firing a Gun Shot Off In A Fireworks Factory, And Without Dripping A Single Bowl of Soup?" Sam exclaimed out in complete and overwhelming surprise to see that he and Max were staring at what they were looking for with the Furlings was here all this time?

"I always found that talent of Flint Paper's handy?" Max stated off from making some comment in what Sam spoke of their pal Flint without giving the meadow much thought?

"Never mind that Max, we just did what we were told to do, find the Meadow, and this here is it!" Sam stated out to his partner to see before them, that they have found a new meadow.

"At long last Sam, our Life-Long-Journey has come to an End!" Max exclaimed off with some sappy-drama emotion in saying the duo were searching for this for so long? "We've dreamt of this moment for so long, and now…here it is!" The rabbit exclaimed off that they found the meadow they were looking for, though it was odd since they were never on such a long quest to begin with?

"Max, your putting yourself in some other guy's shoes, we've only been on this case for almost a day and an half!" Sam stated in telling his partner that he was thinking of someone else's life while correctly stating they've been on this case work for only a short amount of time.

"Oh right? Well at least I didn't lose any of my years then?" Max replied off in seeing his silliness before acting sorta like his normal self.

"You crack me up, little buddy. Now lets see what's gonna happen from our stealthy work here!" Sam replied on Max's funny behavior before keeping themselves out of sight, as they watch to see what happens next here?

"Gotcha Sam, lets see how the Furlings get by now!" Max nods in agreement, as they get binoculars out to watch what will happen to the Furling group now that they are in a new meadow?

~

We soon zoom in on the three Furlings close to the single tree, as they begin their next step after finally arriving at a new Meadow.

"Now all we need is the eyebright and the lungwor….." Edger was explaining to his friends to point out the missing two herbs they need when suddenly…? "WohOoohhh?" From out of nowhere that cut Edger off to yelp, some dirt was sprouted from under him? "WAaaahahaaaahhhhh?" Edger yelped out loud with a scream, as his puzzled friends watched the mole was riding something in the dirt over towards the tree spot? "WaaahaaaahhhaAAahh?" Edger was screaming out in not having any control of what was taking him, until it's dirt travels got cut by….something blocking the path? "Cluphm…" The mole had hit the tree from where the dirt had traveled with him towards? "Uphm?" Edger let out a moan, as that was some wild ride while unsure what happened?

From above the tree where Edger had bumped into it, something was seen in one of the branches? It was an acorn nut, and while one was empty of it's nut, the other one wiggled from the impact to break off? "Breakiihh…" From that state, the nut soon fell towards the ground.

Which at this moment, Edger was trying to hold his head and fix his hat's position in wondering what happen just now until…. "Cughnnn…." Then without a warning, an acorn nut fell and hit Edger right on his head? "Oooowwwh?" Edger yelped out from the thing that hit on his head, puzzled to what that was? "Trushhmm…Truushmm…." Suddenly without warning, from under the dirt that had brought Edger on the ride popped out of the ground to be revealed as a groundhog, happily smiling at the nut prize? "Ggguufffhmmm?" The groundhog blindly pushed Edger off in the dirt to pick up the nut until?

"Cluphm…." When suddenly from out of the blue, a grey-brown mouse boy with shady grey-brown hair, a red nose, white eyes with black ovals and worn a dark-purple shirt came by to snatch the nut away. "Gurphhmmm?" Of course, during the mouse boy's rush, he step on Edger's back which made him moan from the feeling when he was on the ground to get towards the tree behind them.

"Thanks pal." The mouse boy thanked Edger for the boost after he took the nut and started to climb the tree. He was non other then a mouse boy by the name of Willy, and from his act, appeared to be seen as a tough guy.

At this moment, the groundhog was puzzled at where his nut went before looking up where the mouse boy went, got confused to what happened before suddenly getting the idea on the situation! "Hey! Why you take that?" The groundhog had a frowny upset face while snapping with his right fist waving that the mouse boy took his nut while Edger looked from his lying position to what's going on now? "Oh, come on now? You give that back to me!" We soon see the groundhog snapping off in being upset that his nut was taken. "Come on!" He begins to pout while Abigail and Russell come over to check on their mole friend?

"Are you alright, Edger?" Abigail asked to check if her mole friend was alright from what happened to him?

"Wooh!" The groundhog yelps before going back underground from seeing something else coming, as the did the other Furlings!

"Outta my way!" A rude grey-blue squirrel exclaimed, as he was rushing over that Abigail and Russell yelped to duck down while Edger stay down, the boys hand their hands over their heads while the door mouse girl crouch down to watch what was sorta going on.

"I'm first!" Snapped one grey-blue fur mouse over when he pushed a tan-brown fur mouse away. Soon more arguing folks of the meadow came by, one was a light-blue fur squirrel with red-violet pants and another came over was a dark-grey fur squirrel with brown pants on that seem chubby. From so many animals coming over and paying no mind to the Furlings that kept themselves low from many jumping over them to climb up the tree?

The scene shows the new meadow folks going up the tree, all were arguing as they were?

"Move over!" One of the meadow folk woman shouted out to get on through!

"It's no fair!" One meadow folk male complained in trying to get by with the rush on the tree.

~

The Freelance Police watched this puzzled to what was going on?

"Hay Sam, what do you think's gotten these meadow folks so up tight?" Max asked puzzled that from what he and Sam were witnessing, was a bunch of meadow folks going nuts over, well, a nut?

"Might have something to do with the nut, Max?" Sam easily stated to his partner that the creatures of this meadow seem to want to have the acorn nut for themselves?

"I've heard of Nutty Cases before, but…." Max was about to state something when his own partner beat him too it.

"Say that this is Nuts and you'll lose what ever nuts you got in that head of yours, nut-head!" Sam threaten to have his partner clam up in not even mentioning such a statement which the rabbit nods in response to that order.

~

Back to the argument happening, we look at one spot of the tree.

As the mouse boy, Willy was crawling up the tree with his nut prize, from out of a hole, one dark blue-grey squirrel came out with a serious face to take the nut. The mouse boy yelps, then frowns when he sees the squirrel thief run off on another branch with his captured nut prize. Once he was far enough to look to see with a sly face that he got away, he blinked, looked to the nut with a smile and was closing his eyes to eat it. All while unaware that the same mouse boy came from above the closed eye squirrel's notice. "Cluphmm…" The mouse boy takes the nut back from the squirrel before he could even bite into it. "GUuphumphmm…" Of course, the squirrel tried to take a bite, but felt nothing but air, and was puzzled by what happened to the nut?

Soon the very Furling mouse boy swung himself upright from a branch he was on by his tail until he stood up straight with the nut in his hands. "Hahahah!" Willy laughs off in trumpet that he's gotten the acorn nut in his hands now.

"Wubububwubbababaahhhh?" But then Willy yelps from the dark-blue squirrel wobbling the branch the mouse boy stood to be shaking up from all that which made it harder to keep his balance before he dropped the nut.

"Clunk-clunkclunk?" The nut hit some parts of the tree's branches a few times.

"The last one's gonna go!" Complained one resident from seeing the last nut was gonna go before it finally stopped on a tree's branch leaf?

"Ahhh/AAahhh!" Soon a crowd of mice and squirrels appear around some sides from seeing the nut was in sight. "YehhYaahh-Yaahhh!" The started to dog pile to get the nut, all tried to get the nut, but it slipped out from the piling folks into the air?

However, Willy, the same mouse boy caught the nut with a happy smile that the acorn came back to him. "Hay, what, hay, wooh!" The mouse boy yelps to hold the nut that was slipping and he was juggling the thing in his hands. "Gulphmm…" He gets a hold of it, as he makes a climb for it on the tree with the nut in hand.

"Get after him!/It's miiine!" The crowd of squirrels were battering out some words, as they were chasing the mouse boy up the tree while below, the three Furlings watched puzzled, even the hidden Freelance Police saw all this weirdness was strange?

"Gee?" Russell spoke off in seeing this surprise action done by some of the meadow folks, even his two friends couldn't understand this? "And I thought meals were out of control in my house?" Russell stated to his pals of this situation was almost like his own family to grab means, but different? Edger was cleaning his glasses at the moment while he, Russell, and Abigail continue to watch this strange action of keeping food for themselves display?

Soon the mouse boy was running with his head looking back while unaware of going straight towards an orange-red fur squirrel with a light-blue vest, brown nose and tan underbelly fur. This was Waggs, as he's seen as someone to take on a fight like what's happening here. As the new squirrel took the nut, which Willy noticed to yelp and grab the nut back.

"I saw it first!" The mouse boy exclaimed with a snappy look in seeing the orange-red squirrel try to take the nut from him.

"You MICE are all the Same!" The orange-red squirrel snap off to remark while trying to keep hold of the nut from being taken. "Greedy…little….cowards!" Waggs exclaimed what the mice were, as both he and Willy were trying to take the nut for themselves.

"Gaauughh-Gaauuuh!" Soon a group of mice and squirrels went behind their own kind to help pull the other to get the nut on their side?

Down below this quarreling struggle fight, the Furlings stared puzzled by more of this action.

"How are we gonna get anybody to help us find the herbs?" Edger asked out to his friends who looked at him when he shrug off this puzzled question? Unless this fighting for food is over, they can't ask for some help? Abigail had a stern and serious face in seeing that nobody would help them if they don't stop this foolishness.

"Maybe these guys won't be so grouchy after they eat?" Russell exclaimed to point out while shrugging off the idea that the meadow folks would be fine after they've eaten. While Edger was twisting his scarf in unsure what to do, Abigail was marching a bit with a determine face.

"Well we can't wait that long?" Abigail exclaimed off with a focus face, as she started to climb up the tree while her two puzzled friends saw her leave, the door mouse girl was gonna end this fighting her own way!

"URrrghh….." Meanwhile, the struggle goes on, as the mice were pulling the nut over their side, but then the squirrels were pulling enough to bring the nut to their side while others just watch the tug-of-war go on?

"WAaauurghhh!" But the mice weren't giving up so easily and pulled back their side again.

"RRrruuaurrghhhh!"  But again, the squirrels fought more to pull the nut over to their side to keep.

"ARrruughhhh?" The mice were still trying to pull the the nut over to their side to get the prize.

"RRRruuAArrugh!/RRruuarrgh" Waggs let out a growl while Willy tried to pull the nut away, but neither notice Abigail climbing up from underneath to look down and then grab hold of the mouse boy's right leg before using her left hand to push off his other mice helping him to fall on their sides.

"Hey!" The mouse boy snapped off from suddenly notice someone was on his right foot trying to grab him, as he fought to get it free?

"Ugh-Ughh!" Abigail was struggling to pull this mouse boy to get him off from continuing this fight.

"Let go!" Willy snapped that Abigail was trying to stop him before his competition, Waggs, who hugging the nut lets go of him?

"Wooohoo..Woooh?" Abigail yelps from losing her grip to grab the mouse boy's tail instead to hang on from falling.

"What's the big idea?" The mouse boy snapped off to remark while trying to get his balance from Abigail swinging on his tail, as he tried to stand his ground, but...

"Waahahahah?/Woooohhh?" Abigail and Willy lets out a cry from when the latter slipped off the branch and both were falling downwards while the boy held onto his nut?

"Aauughh…Aaauugh?" The mouse boy yelps from his falling, but even more so when he was losing his grip on the nut he kept a hold of, as he tried to hold on while falling front first to the ground before….

"Gaaugh?" Willy yelps from hitting the ground, okay, but lets go of his nut.

"Waaugh?" Abigail also falls on the new mouse boy who broke her fall, both were alright?

But the main focus return to the nut on the ground when the dust cleared and both of them saw it, with a determined face, Willy tried to leap over to grab it, but….. "PRrucghhrumm…" Suddenly from out of the ground, another groundhog appeared with arms waved out with a happy grin when the mouse boy yelped from not only missing the nut, but his action forced it into the air to get caught by the groundhog instead? As the groundhog looked at his prize, the mouse boy looks up, only to get a surprise from who got the nut? "Blleeuughhhmmmm!" The groundhog did a raspberry at the mouse boy in saying 'tough luck' which left the latter blank and puzzled? "Trushtrushtrushmmm…." Soon the groundhog was digging his way underground, with his prize in tow, leaving a tunnel trail where he was going off with the acorn nut.

~

Back with the Freelance Police, they saw what became of the nut?

"Boy, I've heard people go nuts over anything, but to go nuts over one acorn is the real shocker there?" Sam exclaimed from knowing that most folks go crazy and nutty over some silly reasons, but for these meadow folks to go nuts over one acorn nut was something that even took the cake here.

"To true, and here I thought it was some game of which who ever holds the nut that falls, gets to eat it if their quick enough?" Max nods off in agreeing while stating out a theory of what was actually going on that was way off the topic.

"And it looks like things may heat up from what happens to someone who lost the nut?" Sam stated from where the duo were hiding, seeing that from Abigail's interference, that one boy mouse, Willy, lost the nut he worked to get?

"Oh right, wonder what they do if someone made them lose the nut against not a another mice or squirrel, but a groundhog?" Max replied with a perky interest in wondering what's gonna happen or if they are needed to step in or not?

~

Back with the mouse boy on the ground, after seeing his acorn prize taken, he was going to snap at the one that caused his lost!

"Heeeyy!" Willy snaps while still on the ground on his belly, to look up at who caused this lost for him. "Just what do you think your…." As he was snapping, by the time he set his sights on Abigail, the door mouse girl kinda yelp, but almost seem to show….a smile at the boy which in turn, he also stopped from noticing who he was talking too? "Your…? Hugmm?" The boy mouse tried to say something, from noticing Abigail was a girl mouse, as his tough act was suddenly becoming…sensible from the girl holding her hands while staring at the one she saw before her? "Gush I…?" Willy soon spoke in a more kind and gentle voice, being more sensible while Abigail still sat on him? "I hope I didn't hurt you when you threw me down?" He asked in concern while looking up at Abigail in apologizing to her with a smile, his eyes were half bit close like…he couldn't take his eyes off of her.

"Hurt me?" Abigail spoke in being puzzled by that while not bothered by it, as she had a smile and twirled her hair at that question? "Nooohh?" She shook her head while having her hands' fingers together before stating her well being. "I'm fine?" She responded back with an honest expression while almost not taking her happy gaze from the boy mouse before her, like she was liking this boy suddenly?

"Your not from around here, are yeah?" Willy asked the door mouse a question in seeing Abigail wasn't from around this meadow, as he smiled sheepishly at her while Abigail was kinda sheepishly smiling and happily looking at the boy?

"Hmm-hmmhm?" Abigail shook her head with her mouth muffing her words at responding, as she looked away while her eyes gazed at the boy mouse with a like interest and was smiling still?

~

The Freelance Police saw this and knew right away what was happening here!

"Awww, the two little mice Furlings are in love?" Sam replied off in seeing that Abigail's gotten some tiny crush on meeting a new mouse her own age, and the feelings are also returned. "Isn't that the sweetest thing you ever saw?" The K-9 detective exclaimed off towards his partner Max in what he thinks of this?

"I guess? I've heard of falling for someone, but not so much it actually being done literally?" Max shrug off to agree while stating out that from what he and Sam once heard of folks falling in love was just a metaphor, but it turns out that the actual, literal meaning works too?

"Love comes to many folks Max, the case on 'how' it happens is a mystery left unsolved?" Sam exclaimed off to explain that love can happen in many ways, some just so much different from who one meets?

"Well hate to break this, but looks like this little scene is about to get cut short." Max cut off his partner to point out something about to happen that was needing of their attention!

~

Back at the scene, most of the meadows folks were puzzled by what was going on, until someone soon spoke out.

"Ah-Haaaahhh!" Spoke the voice of someone that was marching over with the other meadow folks still puzzled, as it turned out to be the grouchy red-orange squirrel named Waggs from before? "Now the truth comes out!" He exclaimed to point something out of what's going on, as the others looked to hear what he had to say? "There just here to steal our food!" He pointed towards the Furlings arrival in stating in an upset tone that they were hear to steal their food.

"No!" Edger protest that they weren't here to do that, as he tried to explain. "We're just looking for lungwort and eyebright." He waved his open arms to state their purpose of being here, as the red-orange squirrel looks down at him with his expression unchanged.

"Liar!" Waggs remarked off down with his hands to his waist, which made Edger yelp in surprise that this person doesn't believe their story.

"It-It's true!" Edger exclaimed out, as Waggs stare down at him while Russell, the lathers of Abigail and Willy were both up along with the other gathered meadow folks to hear the mole's explanation. "We need the herbs to help a sick badger. Back home." Edger stated out the three Furlings reason of being here, even pointed his right hand back to state they needed the herbs to help Michelle who was back in their home at this very moment.

"More lies!" The red-orange squirrel protested further with arms raised up before talking to Edger on his lied claims. "Why would a mole!" Waggs was pointing at Edger, stating who he was while going on. "Ah mouse! And a hedgehog!" He waved both his arms for one statement of the other two Furlings, as he back a nervous Edger to a stump. "Wanna help ah-ah…." The squirrel was trying to make a statement of Edger's claim to helping a badger. "Ah fowl smelling, worm eating, good for nothing Badger!" As Waggs stated all this to Edger who seemed nervous, then the red-orange squirrel poked his chest to end his claim statement of anybody wanting to help a badger of all creatures.

"Yeah-Yeah!/Yeeah!/You tell him, Waggs!/Ahahahah/Wahahaahah!" Some of the other meadow residents were agreeing with the squirrel who was reveal to be Waggs to the Furlings. Most of the other residents were even laughing at Edger, but as they did, the mole was suddenly feeling less nervous and more…mad and upset from Waggs making fun of his friend, Michelle, for being a badger.

~

The Freelance Police saw how some of these locals were acting up in insulting the three Furlings sick friend, it wasn't very nice?

"Sam, how's about I introduce that squirrel over there, of my many talents of making tie knots…." Max dryly was stating to the one acting like a jerk before really snapping it off. "Using his BODY in the subject!" Max was ticked at this, as he planned to march out to give Waggs a lesson when….

"Hold it, little buddy, we might not need to show that jerky squirrel a thing or two!" Sam stopped his partner from going out there to do something to Waggs!

"Why not?" Max whined in wondering why his partner didn't want the rabbit to show that Waggs person a thing or two?

"Well it looks like the little mole Furling might have something to retort to those insults!" Sam pointed out which he and Max notice the upset expression on Edger's face which meant one thing…something was about to happen?

~

As the other meadow locals were laughing at this, Edger has had enough of it!

"Michelle is not any of those things!" Edger spoke off with a stern face which got Waggs to look around from the crowd to stare puzzled at the mole talking back to him? "She's our friend! Understand!" Edger snapped off to state this in front of even Waggs' surprised face at how upset the mole was getting? "We've come too far to be stopped now!" Edger held his hand in stating that he nor his friends aren't going to stop after getting this far on their journey. "Step aside!" Edger sternly spoke while pointing at Waggs to move which the yelping squirrel did to let the mole through while not getting over how Edger spoke to him in such a tone?

"Wooh?/Wooah?" Some of the crowds local meadow folks were yelping in surprise, even Abigail and Russell were left speechless by their mole friend's actions? But after looking to themselves, they smiled in seeing how much Edger was trying to defend Michelle as a friend would.

As Edger was marching off with a stern and determine expression, he looked back to his friends. "Russell! Abigail!" Edger spoke in calling his friends names to come join him. "Are we doing this together or not?" The mole Furling stated out for them to get on and find the herbs they need to rescue their sick badger friend, and nothing was gonna stop them!

"Wait for us!" Russell spoke out with a smile, as he and Abigail were soon running off to catch up to their friend taking charge and taking the lead. Meanwhile, still hidden, Sam and Max couldn't help but smile that Edger, the nervous mole they've come to know from watching over the Furlings, had the guts to speak against someone bulling them if it was picking on their sick friend.

The scene shows the three Furlings approaching a field of eyebright flowers, but their was a discussion going on at what Edger had done to defend their sick friend's status of being insult!

"I'm proud of you, Edger!" Abigail exclaimed out to her mole friend for sticking up for himself and Michelle's defense. As the three Furlings were going up to the herb patch, they were followed by Waggs, Willy and hidden from the rest by tall grass were the Freelance Police in stealth mode?

"Hey look at all the Eyebright!" Russell exclaimed with a smile, as he and his friends saw all around them, the first of the herb ingredients to help Michelle.

"For all the good it will do yeah?" Waggs exclaimed out to the three Furlings, as he took a stand on a stump log which made Abigail looked to him puzzle in what he was getting at? "I like to see you get the Lungwort!" Waggs exclaimed off while turning around with a sly smile and arms crossed, making some remark statement in the Furlings to actually get the Lungwort somehow?

"Frruuhmmm…." From a new view, we see a pink flower growing from a vine on a rock's edge? Just one problem, it's location was on a very TALL cliff of rocks that seem too high for any normal forest or meadow folks to even reach it's tough structure?

"No one's, in Oak Dale has been able to reach it!" Waggs voice explained out, as we zoom away of the scene to see that from below the lungwort's position, were the Furlings, Willy and Waggs himself. As it was a tall and high spot for anybody to reach, and that no one in the revealed meadow's name has been able to get the herb? "But I'll bet you three can?" He remarks off with a sly sarcastic remark to look away, and pretend to look at his fingers in interest, liking to see the Furlings get the last herb they need.

"That's right!" Russell boosted out with a smile while his two friends looked up to the top of the cliff in wondering how to get it? "We've already got a plan!" Russell exclaimed off with pride that the three Furlings already have a plan to get the lungwort. "Right Edger?" Russell turns to wave his left arm's hand to motion in silence that his smart friend has a plan to do so, but...

"Um-Muhpm?" Edger shrug off his shoulders when he replied with his mouth closed by muffle, stating from his puzzled face that they don't actually have a plan to reach the lungwort? Even Abigail looked back around in not sure how to get the lungwort off the cliff?

"Hahahahaah?" Waggs laughs off in finding this display humorist while some of the other Oak Dale folks were coming up to see what was going on. "Just like a hedgehog! Big Mouth and No Brains!" Waggs remarked off before turning to tell the other folks of the meadow of Russell having a big mouth, and not enough brains to think first before boosting.

"Huphm?" Russell huffed in feeling upset and insulted by Waggs remarks of what he was trying to do.

"Hachachach!/Yeah, good one!/WAhahaahahahah!/“ Already, some of the local meadow folks were laughing in agreement with Waggs, as Russell took his back pack off to circle around to a spot.

"Crushhmm…" Russell put his back pack on the ground before sitting on a stone seat while the laughing taunts still went on, as he tries to ignore it all.

Abigail was frowning that some of the Oak Dale folks were laughing at poor Russell, it wasn't very nice.

At that moment, Willy, that was now friends with the Furlings came up to say this to Abigail to defend his new friends. "Don't listen to Waggs." The mouse boy waved off towards the red-orange squirrel, as he stated this to Abigail who was listening to him. "He just likes to pick fights!" The boy mouse explained with a caring expression at Abigail, who both her and him had puzzled and frowny expressions in seeing what Waggs was like.

~

Back with the Freelance Police in hiding, Max was about to lose himself from what was going on.

"Ohhh, squirrel boy likes to pick fights hugh? I'll take that challenge!" Max asked out with a sly wicked smile in understanding how he can take that challenge, however….

"Now Max, as much as I would love to see you give that jerk a lesson, we're undercover!" Sam reminded his partner that while he enjoys a good beating, they were undercover at the moment on this case.

"Can't I go and just undercover myself as a stranger rabbit from a place no one cares about to get away with what I want?" Max asked a hypothetical statement on him getting away with blowing his cover to just get off some stress relief?

"Sorry, but no, other then torturing rats like Jimmy-Two-Teeth, that was all in our animals right to punish other animals, but out here, that doesn't apply?" Sam exclaimed off that while in their neighborhood, it's normal to do a few beatings here and there, but out in this country meadow, there was no right to do so?

"Curse those laws, when I get back, I'm changing them!" Max cursed out in a silent remark that he didn't have the power as President to get away with that plot!

~

Meanwhile, during which, Russell was seen eating something from his back pack. "Cruphmmuphm…" Russell ate something before he suddenly notice, the paper he used to wrap their food supplies in was in his hands, and seeing…something was imprinted on it. "Wait a minute!" Russell stated out from noticing something on the paper that got him excited! "I know how to get up there!" Russell turns to his friends in finding a way for the Furlings to get up to the cliff and get that lungwort! "We'll use Cornelius' Flapper-Wing-a-Ma-Thing!" Russell showed from on the paper he held, was a design plans of Cornelius flying machine, all of the plans were listed right there on it's structure and more.

"Russell, good thinking!" Edger spoke with a smile, as he and Abigail smiled at hearing this news while their new friend, Willy stared puzzled at what they are talking about? "We'll fly to the top of the cliff!" Edger stated out in understanding the plan, as he and Abigail were rushing over to their hedgehog friend, leaving the mouse boy of Oak Dale confused and lost by what the Furlings were talking about?

"You don't really mean fly?" Willy asked with a hand to his chin and waved off with a puzzled expression if the group of Furlings really meant to 'fly' up to the top of the cliff?

"You heard them, Willy!" Waggs addressed the grey mouse as Willy to everyone with exclaiming what he heard the new group of Furlings was saying out and he heard right before making a remark about it. "They'll flap their little paws, and fly like birdies!" Waggs flapped his hands like a bird, making a tease remark of the three Furlings are gonna try to fly like that. "Gahahahaah…." Waggs ended up laughing at this joke he made, as it was one to laugh about.

"Aahahachaaahhh!/Hahaahahahaha?" Even some of the local meadow squirrel folks of Oak Dale were laughing at this, finding it funny that anybody without wings could fly up to the cliff to retrieve the lungwort.

"Laugh if you want!" Abigail remarked off towards Waggs with a stern frown face with her arms crossed, stating they can laugh at the idea, but that won't effect them. "We'll show you!" Abigail pointed her right hand's finger in stating they'll show the laughing group of Waggs that they can too fly up there, with Cornelius' plans to design one of course before turning to leave the other way towards her friends.

The Freelance Police heard all of this, the Furlings plan to get the Lungwort from that cliff by flying after building some contraption to do so?

"And if that doesn't work, I can show them, my other side of my personality!" Max responded off towards him and Sam from hearing Abigail say they show Waggs, but if not, he could do something about it, but…?

"Skip it Max, if those plans the Furlings have from their badger professor are correct, then they could do it!" Sam told his little buddy in seeing that if the Furlings have a plan to reach the lungwort on the cliff with their professor's plans, that could very much show up the disbelievers.

"Great, so….I now I'm not sure if I should ask this or not? But what's the problem with that?" Max replied with a smile before suddenly asking out a question of a 'but' in the next thing he'll hear?

"Well considering the circumstances, we may need to beat them to the lungwort and plan an emergency course of action!" Sam shrug off to state that the Freelance Police will have to be quicker to reach the lungwort in case something has to be done that only the copper duo can do.

"Which is what, Sam?" Max asked in not seeing what was getting his partner so tense until the K-9 explains it.

"Should something go wrong, we may have to improvise to save them." Sam stated out that if anything un-expect happens that causes a set back, then they will have to be ahead to make sure that the Furlings don't get seriously hurt.

"By blowing our cover?" Max asked in thinking that they have to expose themselves to the Furling trio about now?

"No genius, with this camouflage chameleon belt you won from Heavy that some enemy of the states used, but the big lug shot the wall that exposed him!" Sam remarked before explaining with a belt he showed that seem to fit with the plan while saying how Max got this device in the first place.

"Oh right, that story was a favorite of mine?" Max replied out while admitting that he liked that story of how he got that neat spy device.

"Now hurry and put this on along with this see through string rope for me to pull you up!" Sam gave the belt and some string rope to make sure that Max would have everything needed to be unseen and stealthy that no one in the meadow would see a rabbit out of nowhere climbing a cliff?

"Got it, we work on doing the climbing while the Furlings do the flying!" Max nods off in knowing what he's gonna do in the mean time. He and Sam will do most of the dangerous stuff, as is their specialty while the Furlings try a different approach while they lie in wait if something goes wrong, which in their line of work, the un-expected, can be the most tricky to expect?
